Thompson Boat Center is located at the mouth of Rock Creek at the tide- lock of the C and O Canal. It is situated just at the intersection of Rock Creek Parkway and Virginia Avenue on the Potomac river in Georgetown, Washington DC.

They offer high quality instructional and competitive rowing programs. The instructional programs in single person (sculling) boats and 8 person sweep boats are available. They offer competitive programs for every age and experience level.

Annual vessel storage, bike and boat rentals are also offered at TBC. Originally this center was named ‘The National Capital Water Sports Center'. It was the brainchild of Mr. Harry S. Thompson. When he left this world, the name was changed to honor him for his precious contribution.

Thompson Boat Center presently has many individual paddlers, vessels of four collegiate, many club teams, thirteen scholastic and many bicycle and boat rentals.

The coaches are well qualified. They are required to pass a Boating Safety Course approved and recognized by US Coast Guard.
