National Cathedral Flower Mart

National Cathedral Flower Mart started in the year 1939 and is sponsored by the All Hallows Guild, which is dedicated to the care of the cathedral grounds.

Plants, herbs, foods, puppet shows, carousel rides, boutiques and entertainment are offered on the Cathedral close on Friday and Saturday, the first full weekend in May. Each year one of Washington's embassies is honored.

There are displays of flowering plants and herbs, learn decorating techniques, and enjoy ethnic food, children's puppet shows and other activities. The theme changes yearly, featuring a different country. Everything takes place on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral, one of the nation's most beautiful churches.

Plants, flowers, lovely crafts, an antique merry- go- round, rides, games, and food make this a beloved spring event for the students of the Cathedral schools. Traditionally, each of the Cathedral schools hosts a booth.
