National Book Festival

National Book Festival is a festival for all literary scholars and even for those who do not read much. It is a celebration of books, reading and the joy they bring us. Sponsored by the Library of Congress, the festival offers a diverse assortment of activities. Festival feature different categories of interest, including Teens & Children, Home & Family, Fiction & Fantasy and many more.

Join thousands of book & reading enthusiasts for the annual National Book Festival, the largest literary event in the country! Each year, dozens of the nation's top authors attend the festival to sign books and discuss their projects. There are also interactive exhibits and activities for the entire family.

Washington has always been a bookish town – an impressive number of riders on the Metro on any given morning have their noses buried in books. This is even more the case in this age of the Washington political biography (or hagiography), government agency tell- all, or partisan diatribe.

The festival is refreshingly non- stuffy and egalitarian as it caters to just about every taste.
