The Black Family Reunion Celebration is two- day cultural event presenting themes such as Children's Pavilion, Health Pavilion, Sports & Fitness Pavilion, Education Pavilion, Economic Empowerment Pavilion, Spirituality Pavilion, Women's Health and Day Spa Pavilion, Fathers, Sons & Brothers Pavilion, Family Values and the National Council of Negro Women's Pavilion.

It is recognized as the largest, most significant family event in the nation, attracting more than 500,000 people each year. The festival celebrates the enduring strengths and traditional values of the African American family. It is known as the most significant family event in the United States.

A massive gathering that takes place on the National Mall at summer's end, the Black Family Reunion was conceived of by legendary civil rights activist Dorothy Height in the early 1980s to show the world the positive side of black life in America.
