Black Cat

Black Cat is a nightclub located in the heart of the historic district in Washington, DC. It is dedicated to the best local, national and international independent and alternative music.

The main concert room, which also hosts indie- rock, Britpop and retro- rock dance nights, looks similar to the old, complete with raised seating area in the back, except that it's larger and has two bars instead of one. The "back stage" (usually reserved for small bands as well as film screenings and poetry readings) is no longer just the back section of the concert room, but a separate space off the Red Room.

One complete new addition is the smoke- free cafe which is always crowded since its inception. It has served the community for over 25 years with its delicious- yet- health- conscious vegetarian and non- veggie food. Advanced tickets are available for Main stage shows through Ticketmaster (202- 397- Seat or get tickets from the box- office between 8:00pm and midnight (cash only).

Black Cat events appeal to people of all ages. Patrons under 18 should have parental permission, and preferably they should be accompanied by an adult; 18+ is fine as long as the person does not drink.
