General Overview of the Washington Post
Over a century ago, the publication of the Washington post began. From its humble beginning in the year 1877 by its founder Stilson Hutchins, the Post which was originally just a “democratic daily journal” of Hutchins is now regarded as one of the daily leading newspapers in the United States. By the year, 1880 it has added a Sunday edition in its circulation which makes the Post the first ever daily newspaper to publish the entire week. As a proof of its success, the post has already received 22 Pulitzer Prizes as of 2006 and several other citations which includes Nieman Fellowship and White House News Photographers Association awards.
Evolution of the Washington Post
The Washington Post contains only four pages when it was first publish and cost three scents. Far from its more than a million circulations weekly as of year 2007, it had 10,000 circulations on its starting year. We may see reporters now with their modern vehicles when covering news, reporters then had to endure traveling by foot, via a high wheeled bicycle and horse car. Other things to take note of are the former usage of a typewriter in the Newsroom which was now replaced by a technologically advanced computer network.
